Insomnia treatment

What Is CBT-I?

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I) is a structured, evidence-based treatment that addresses the factors that perpetuate chronic insomnia

More than sleep hygiene

CBT-I combines several carefully selected strategies to strengthen sleep regulation, reduce time awake in bed, stabilize sleep timing, and change unhelpful beliefs or habits surrounding sleep. Treatment is individualized rather than limited to general sleep tips.

What treatment involves

Care commonly begins with a detailed assessment and sleep tracking. Recommendations may include stimulus control, sleep scheduling, cognitive strategies, relaxation methods, and relapse-prevention planning. Treatment is typically completed over a relatively brief course of visits, depending on individual needs.
